Lucy Cohen
👉 Lucy will be chairing our 2nd mastermind group serving the Swansea area and beyond in 2026. The group is meeting in the afternoon once a month at the Bistrot Pierre by the beach in Mumbles
Lucy Cohen is a Cardiff-based businesswoman and co-founder of Mazuma, the UK’s first subscription-based accountancy service, launched at 23 after an AAT apprenticeship. Inspired by her family’s struggles with taxes in the creative industries, she has championed accessible financial advice for all. With over 20 years in accounting, Lucy is widely recognised as an industry expert and advocate for widening access to the profession. She became Vice President of AAT in 2024.
Her book Forget the First Million won Best Short Business Book at the 2022 Business Book Awards. That year she also received the AAT Past Presidents’ Award for supporting mental health in the profession. In 2021 she was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Accounting Excellence Awards.
A passionate campaigner for social mobility and gender equality, Lucy led a 2020 national campaign to improve pain-relief provision for women’s medical procedures, helping drive policy change.
